Nanaimo Airport New Route Nanaimo-Seattle

January 14, 2014

Kenmore Air Announces Seattle Service

Kenmore Air today announced the launch of new non-stop service between Nanaimo and Seattle beginning March 3, 2014. Twice-daily service will be operated using the airline’s all-weather Caravan and Chieftain wheeled aircraft.

“We are very proud to announce this new route that will bring trans-border scheduled air service to Nanaimo”, said Todd Banks, President and General Manager of Kenmore Air. “We will operate out of Seattle’s Boeing Field, which is located just south of downtown Seattle and only a short ground shuttle ride to Seattle Seattle-Tacoma International Airport.”

“We believe Central Island Residents will be excited by this new service,” adds Russ Burke, Chair of the Nanaimo Airport. “In under an hour passengers can be in Seattle for their day of business or ready to connect to Sea-Tac to continue their travels.”

Attracting a carrier to provide service to the Pacific Northwest has been a long term goal of the Airport. “This new route allows our gateway to expand and better service the region,” shares Mike Hooper, President and CEO of Nanaimo Airport. “Additional routes are a key step in growing our airport to meet future demand.”

Kenmore Air provides a free ground shuttle service between Seattle’s Boeing Field and Seattle Sea-Tac Airport, which takes about 15 minutes. South-bound passengers will clear Customs and Immigration at Boeing Field. North-bound passengers will clear once they arrive in Nanaimo.

Although the new service will be ideal for leisure travelers to take advantage of low cost connects from Seattle, it is expected many business travelers will also take advantage of the new service as it provides fast and easy connections to Sea-Tac Airport for travel to the rest of the USA. “We also offer an option for our frequent travelers,” explains Banks. “You can purchase 10 fully transferable one-way tickets for only $1,536, including taxes until March 31, 2014. After the introductory period, the fee goes to $1,728, including taxes, for 10 one-way tickets.”

These tickets provide a significant discount off standard fares to those who purchase 10 one-way tickets in advance. These tickets are fully transferrable, so they can be shared with family, friends or clients, and they lock in the price of your travel for one year from date of purchase.
